top 10 countries with highest rape crime

 Unknown     16:59     No comments

The list of top 10 countries with highest rape crime. You would be amazed to read that the most developed countries like U.S., Sweden, France, Canada, UK and Germany are the most immersed ones in this crime.

10.Ethiopia
Ethiopia is estimated to have one of the highest rates of violence against women in the world. A report by the UN found that nearly 60% of Ethiopian women were subjected to sexual violence. Rape is a very serious problem in Ethiopia. The country is infamous for the practice of marriage by abduction, with the prevalence of this practice in Ethiopia being one of the highest in the world. In many parts of Ethiopia, it is common for a man, working in co-ordination with his friends, to kidnap a girl or woman, sometimes using a horse to ease the escape. The abductor will then hide his intended bride and rape her until she becomes pregnant. Girls as young as eleven years old are reported to have been kidnapped for the purpose of marriage. Also the Ethiopian military has been accused of committing systematic rapes against civilians.

9.Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka’s security forces are still raping and torturing suspects. There have been recent allegations that rape and torture by the Sri Lankan security forces have continued four years after the civil war ended. The UN Multi-country Study on Men and Violence found that 14.5% of the sample of Sri Lankan men had perpetrated rape at some point in their lives. 4.9% had raped in the past year. 2.7% had raped another man. 1.6% had took part in a gang rape. 96.5% of the men who had raped experienced no legal consequences. 65.8% didn’t feel worried or guilty afterwards. 64.9% of rapists had raped more than once, and 11.1% had raped four or more girls or women.

According to Justice Institute of British Columbia, one out of every 17 women is raped, 62% of rape victims were physically injured, 9% were beaten or disfigured.
7.France
Rape was not a crime in France until 1980. Laws reinforcing women’s rights and safety are relatively recent in France. The law making rape a crime dates back only to 1980. Earlier decrees were based on 19th century moral codes. A law on sexual-harassment was approved in 1992 and one on moral harassment was passed in 2002. The last bill to fight violence against women was passed last year. Government studies show there are 75,000 rapes a year in the country. Only about 10 percent of the victims filed complaints. France is at the 7th position with the total reported crime of 3,771,850.

An estimate of 240,000 women and girls has died up till now in Germany because of this crime. Germany is on the number six in the highest rape crime with the figures of 6,507,394 in this year which is really a big figure. German Catholics have allowed the morning-after pills for the victims. The country moving forward in technology is actually moving really backward in humanity.

5.United Kingdom

Many people wish to live or even visit UK as it is one of the most developed countries. But they surely must not be aware that this country is also involved badly in the crime of rape. In January 2013, the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), Office for National Statistics (ONS) and Home Office released its first ever joint Official Statistics bulletin on sexual violence, entitled An Overview of Sexual Offending in England and Wales. According to report: Approximately 85,000 women are raped on average in England and Wales every year. Over 400,000 women are sexually assaulted each year. One in 5 women (aged 16 – 59) has experienced some form of sexual violence since the age of 16.

India is the place where sexual assault is rapidly increasing. Rape in India is one of India’s most common crimes against women. According to the National Crime Records Bureau 24,923 rape cases were reported across India in 2012, but experts agree that the number of unreported cases of sexual assault brings the total much higher. Out of these, 24,470 were committed by parents/family, relatives, neighbors and other known persons implying that , men known to the victim committed 98 per cent of reported rapes. The latest estimates suggest that a new case of rape is reported every 22 minutes in India.

3.Sweden
Sweden has the highest incidence of reported rapes in Europe and one of the highest in the world. One amongst every four women comes out to be the victim of rape in Sweden. By 2010, The Swedish police recorded the highest number of offences – about 63 per 100,000 inhabitants. The country has third-highest rape crime in the world. In 2009 there were 15,700 reported sexual offenses in Sweden, a rise of 8% compared to 2008, of which 5,940 were rape and sexual harassment (including exhibitionism) accounted for 7,590 reports. In April 2009, it was reported that sex crimes had increased by 58% over the previous ten years. According to a 2009 European Union study, Sweden has one of the highest rates of reported rape in Europe.

2.South Africa
The country has one of the highest rates of rape in the world, with some 65,000 rapes and other sexual assaults reported for the year 2012. The incidence of rape has led to the country being referred to as the “rape capital of the world”. One in three of the 4,000 women questioned by the Community of Information, Empowerment and Transparency said they had been raped in the past year. More than 25 per cent of South African men questioned in a survey published by the Medical Research Council (MRC) admitted to rape; of those, nearly half said they had raped more than one person. Three out of four of those who had admitted rape indicated that they had attacked for the first time during their teens. South Africa has amongst the highest incidences of child and baby rape in the world. If the rapist is convicted, his prison time would be  around 2 years.

1.United States
The super power of the world is at the first position in the race of rapes. Males are majorly the rapist holding a proportion of 99%. Out of all the victims, 91% are females while 9% are males. The U.S Bureau of Justice Statistics states that 91% of rape victims are female and 9% are male, and nearly 99% of rapists are male. According to the National Violence Against Women Survey, 1 in 6 U.S. women and 1 in 33 U.S. men has experienced an attempted or completed rape in their lifetime. More than a quarter of college-age women report having experienced a rape or rape attempt since age 14. Out of all, only 16% of the total cases are reported. Outdoor rape is not common in USA rather most of the rape cases takes place inside homes.

Hot Bollywood Controversies You Should Not Miss

 Unknown     13:20     No comments

Hot Bollywood Controversies You Should Not Miss

Bollywood celebrities love to stay in news, even if it is for bad reasons. Let us take a look at some of the most talked about Bollywood controversies which have stayed in news for considerably long time.
Shah Rukh Khan vs. Aamir Khan

Going by the popular belief, two great stars should be friends. But that is not true with Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan. Amongst the biggest celebrities of Indian film industry, these two have been in a cold war for eternity. In recent past, Aamir wrote on his blog, “Shah Rukh is licking my feet and I am feeding him biscuits every now and then. What more can I ask for? Now, before you jump to any conclusions, let me add that Shah Rukh is the name of our dog.” In retaliation came King Khan’s reply, “Aamir has lost two of his fans as both my children loved him as an actor.”
There were attempts to seek peace, when a humble Aamir apologized at an event. However, Aamir’s statement “I haven’t apologised to Shah Rukh. But yes, I have apologised to his children,” did not appease much to an offended Shah Rukh. Apparently, the two biggies of Bollywood have been keeping it low and do not display any annoyance in public.
Mallika Sherawat’s International ‘Oops’ Moment
Carrying an ‘in-your-face’ and ‘devil-may-care’ attitude, Mallika Sherawat probably does not put enough thought to her actions. Her recent attempt to gain attention fire-backed when an excited Mallika posted some of her photos from the Los Angeles premiere of Inglourious Basterds on Twitter. As obvious the sultry actress was dressed for the event in a revealing outfit. It proved to be one of her worst fashion outings, which was classified by many as a fashion crime.
Learning from the episode, Mallika was found donning a D&G formal suit in a following event.
Radhika Apte’s Cheap Publicity Stunt
The less known actors are usually desperate to grab attention, but Radhika Apte went a bit too far to achieve that. The actress made it to the headlines when some nude photos started circulating on the internet. Radhika denied being the girl in the photos. She tweeted, “You guys! If you’re going to get someone to pass off as naked me, she needs to look a lot more like me.” The catch is that this tweet was posted 4-5 days before the photos went viral! Reportedly, it was publicity stunt by Radhika to promote her flick ‘Badlapur’ and draw attention towards her leaked photos.
Kareena Kapoor Khan ‘love jihad’ Controversy
This started when Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) published a morphed picture of Kareena Kapoor Khan as cover photo of their magazine ‘Himalaya Dhwani’. The idea was to warn against ‘love jihad’, taking Kareena Kapoor’s example and showing half of her face covered with niqab and other half displaying sindoor and bindi.
A slightly terrified Kareena was reported to hire two bodyguards besides tightened security. While the VHP’s joint general secretary Surendra Jain quoted, “The magazine is for internal circulation of VHP in Himachal Pradesh. How girls are lured by ‘Jihadis’ has been highlighted through the article.” Her further added, “It also highlights the issue of Bangladeshi infiltrators coming into Himachal Pradesh and causing law and order and communal violence issues.”
Mahima Chaudhry in ‘Black Money’ Trouble
The beautiful actress of Pardes fame is back in news but for all the wrong reasons. Reportedly, Mahima Chaudhry’s real name Ritu Choudhary features on the list of foreign accounts where black money was stashed. The news comes from the revelations of a special investigation team appointed by the Supreme Court for the recovery of black money. Apparently, Mahima has been rubbishing any such news. Meanwhile, Twitter has already been swarming with related jokes.
Sonam Kapoor and Her Sarcastic Tongue
May be it is the high of getting to endorse one of Loreal’s product that has been speaking for Sonam Kapoor lately. The actress gave rise to a controversy when she took a dig at Aishwarya Rai Bachchan saying, “We belong to two different generations.” The lady was in a mood to speak more and commented, “Ash has worked with my dad so I have to call her Aunty na?”
From a previous controversy, Sonam Kapoor showed a middle finger to the press after the Censor Board objected to her middle finger-act in her movie ‘Players’. The lady who considers herself too young and spontaneous commented, “I don’t believe in censorship, so whether they like it or not, I really don’t care about it. I just want people to come and see my film. Showing a middle finger is a part of today’s youth.”
Gauhar Khan Gets Slapped On Stage
Gauhar Khan was in a state of shock when a member from the audience came on stage and slapped her right in the face. It was during the shoot for a television show at FilmCity when Akil Malik, 24, took offence to her skimpy dress and jumped on stage to hit her across the face. He also threatened the actress.
Later, Mumbai Police quoted him saying, “Being a Muslim woman, she should not have worn such a short dress.” He added, “Actresses are the face of society and they should not wear skirts and short clothes as they make youngsters get attracted to them sexually…if actresses stop wearing short clothes, crime will decrease and lead to a better society.”
 Pooja Misrra’s Stolen Show
This sizzling hottie surely loves controversies. According to a report, Pooja Misrra Productions has claimed that Farah Khan’s recent show, Farah Ki Daawat, was originally Pooja’s idea and Colors channel has stolen it from her. The model cum actress has sent a legal notice to the television channel, which also states that one of the show’s sponsors had contacted her to discuss on the concept.
 Deepika Padukone Cleavage Controversy
The hottest controversy of the current times – Nation’s leading daily weaves a cheap story around an alleged cleavage revealing act!
Deepika Padukone’s controversy following a leading daily’s tweet on her cleavage show in a shot of Finding Fanny got lot of media and public attention. There were rounds of accusations and hit backs between the publication and Deepika. Deepika used social media platforms to slam the leading daily and the responsible writer. Many B-Town faces and TV channels came up in support of Deepika while she continued to take on yellow journalism.
 Aditya Pancholi’s Bouncer Controversy
Sloshed into the night, Aditya Pancholi recently created a scene at a Juhu based hotel and got into a tiff with a bouncer. Reportedly, he was highly drunk. The issue aroused when Pancholi objected over English songs being played and demanded for Hindi songs. Pancholi then attacked the bouncer who was escorting him out of the pub. He hit him with his mobile phone and even four colleagues of the bouncer. Later, he was taken to the police station while the bouncer sustained five stitches. For now, Aditya Pancholi has been released on bail.

Most Haunted Places In India

 Unknown     22:28     No comments

Most Haunted Places In India:
Believe it or not, there are more haunted places in India than you can count. If you pack your bags today and start visiting these places, you might take almost a month to visit them all.

The Church Of Three Kings, Goa:

The story behind this Church is a classic example why there is a sufficiency in the world for man’s need but not for man’s greed. Back in the day, three Portuguese  kings always fought over the kingdom of Goa. One king named Holgar, called the other two for a meeting in the now famous ‘The Church Of Three Kings’ and poisoned them to claim the throne. Later, upon discovering that he killed the other two kings, a huge crowd came after him to kill him. The King himself committed suicide by consuming the same poison. All the kings were buried in the same church. It is one of those haunted places in India that is NOT avoided by the visitors.

Delhi Cantt, Delhi:
The refreshing air of Delhi has much more to offer to tourists than just old buildings. If you happen to be around the Delhi cantonment area, ask people around for the spooky stories. Hundreds of people have felt and seen the presence of an eerie lady ghost who haunts the area.

Dow Hills, West Bengal:
Death Road, as the locals call it has been reported on many occasions for being chased by a headless boy. The boy apparently disappears into the woods. There have been news of suicides and people falling into depression after visit Dow hills.

 Dumas Beach, Surat, Gujarat:
Dumas Beach is considered one of the most haunted places in India. It was once a cremation ground for Hindus and that’s when the stories begin to bud. The beach is said to be haunted by the spirits of the souls that are still looking for peace. Thousands of people visit the beach everyone, but there have been very few reports or paranormal activities.

GP Block, Meerut:
A lot of people have seen the same things happening in the area. According to the people who have witnessed the abnormalities, four men were spotted drinking, also a woman in red was spotted by many. The reason it is spooky is that none of the witnesses could ever figure out who these men were.

Malcha Mahal, Delhi:

It isn’t fair to call this place haunted as no ghostly activities were ever recorded in this area. But, since a significant number of people including some reporters have tried have entered the Macha Mahal premises and never returned. If, not haunted, there certainly is something mysterious about the place.
